Slap on the cockgrabbing wrist

Joe Lieberman, I-Cockgobbler, campaigned against Barack Obama and Democratic Senate candidates. His reward? To be allowed to keep his chairmanship of the Senate oversight/homeland security committee.

Forget -- and I know this is hard -- the likely political ramifications (which mean a kind of obstructionism against the Democratic agenda whose results could cost Obama re-election). Let's bring up a subject that ought to have bipartisan appeal: competence.

Lieberman, I-Ballgargler, could have held hearings and led investigations into not only 911 but also lack of preparation for and botched rescue/relief after Hurricane Katrina. He did neither. In fact, his committee exercised no oversight at all. That's criminal neglect of duty, a royal fucking of the American people. It should have been punished. It would be kharmic of Obama's endorsement of this bit of idiocy could cost him his presidency and his place in history, but that's exactly what could happen.
